Die Pyramide von Menkaura

Die Pyramide von Menkau Ra Etwa 200 m südwestlich der Pyramide von Chefren erhebt sich die Pyramide von seinem Sohn und Nachfolger Menkaura. Diese Pyramide ist 66m hoch und damit ist sie die kleinste der drei Pyramiden von Giza. Sehr auffallend da sind solch riesige Granit Steine, die die Basis dieser Pyramide verkleiden. Es war geplant diese Pyramide komplett mit Rosa Granit zu verkleiden aber die Arbeit ist nicht vollendet. Gramit kommt aus Aswan, sie liegt 900 km im Süden und bestimmt sind diese Blöcke auf dem Nil transportiert worden. Sie ist die letzte der herrlichen Pyramiden der vierten Dynastie.
